They say hindsight is 20-20. And IT really is!

What if you could go back in time and tell your younger self how to be a better parent! How might your life have looked? Less stress! Less chaos! Less frustrating! Less doubt!

Now, what if you could share all that wisdom with someone else? That’s what mentoring a single mom is. Our clients are working super hard. Parenting, work and school can be overwhelming! It’s hard to breathe much less think straight. That’s where you come in.

Bring calm into the storm. Bring wisdom into the confusion. Bring encouragement into the doubt. Mentoring is letting a single mom know that every mom has doubts; she’s not the only one. You survived and so will she. Mentoring is letting a mom know that everyone’s life has challenges, multiplied by the number of children they have. But you and Hope for Single Moms will be there to walk the journey and adapt the plan.

We’re looking for experienced moms, or a team of four moms, who can contact their client weekly and meet with her monthly. Have coffee, chat on the phone or whatever you would do with your daughter. HSM has mentor training and a handbook to guide you on the way.

There is a mentor informational meeting on January 16 at 6:30 pm. Mentors must pass a MI State Police background check. If interested, email info@hsmgr.org to RSVP. Please include your full name, ethnicity, and date of birth.

Be part of building stronger families and create brighter futures for women and children when you volunteer as an HSM mentor.
